Our Company
Wilson Electric Co. was founded in 1919 by Paul H. Wilson. Emil Maffioli also was one of the first partners in the business from 1919 to 1925. Paul Wilson sold the company to a
group of employees in 1950. This marked the incorporation of the company
with the original shareholders being Selwyn Seek, President, Ambrose
Marelli, Ray Dean, Elmer Johnson, Glen Carlson, and Alfred Peterson.
In 1972, the company was sold to another group of employees: Ralph C.
Labore, President, Ken Meyer, Warren Kalies, and Harley Harris. In 1980,
John M. Pugh bought into the company as an equal shareholder and later
became the majority shareholder and President. This group of owners has
since retired and sold their interest in the company, being replaced by
current owners/employees Lewis Maffioli, President, Joel Kortemeier,
Steven Drummond, Paul Maffioli, and Fred McQueary.
Throughout the years, Wilson Electric has made a significant impact in the
Rockford and Northern Illinois areas by participating in numerous
commercial, institutional, industrial, church, hospital, and school
construction projects. Much of Wilson's recent growth has occurred in the
service sector, energy improvement projects, and HVAC control and
equipment wiring. Specialties include lighting improvements, unique health
care work, grounding and power problems, and data cabling.
Wilson Electric Co. has been a proud partner with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for many years and is a founding member of the Northern Illinois Chapter of Northern Illinois Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). Wilson Electric Co. continues to serve the region with the finest quality electrical work available.
